Cutting 300 calories a day could have a big impact on heart health

CNN Newsource ( – Cutting around 300 calories a day may be beneficial for your heart, according to a new study published by The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology journal Thursday.

Over the course of the two-year study, healthy adult participants lowered their blood pressure and levels of bad cholesterol by cutting back. Participants also saw a 24% drop in triglyceride concentrations in the blood.

It doesn’t take much to scale back 300 calories. Skipping dessert or intermittent fasting are two options.
