SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (localmemphis.com) — UPDATE 1:45 p.m. – Southaven Police say a body has been found in the backyard of the home.
UPDATE 11:30 a.m. – Southaven Police tell Local 24 News they have found what they believe is a shallow grave in the backyard of the home.
Investigators are searching for an Arkansas man they say used to live at the home who went missing months ago.
We are told Michael Guidry, who lives at the home, was arrested Sunday on a charge of credit card fraud. It’s not yet known what, if any, other charges he may face.
7/9/2019 – 10:00 a.m. – Police are staying tight-lipped on an investigation at a Southaven home after neighbors said rakes and shovels were brought into the backyard.
Investigators have zeroed in on a home in the 700 block of Burton Lane in Southaven. Neighbors tell Local 24 News crime scene tape was put up Monday morning and investigators have been at the home ever since. The Crime Scene Unit is also at the home.
The focus of the investigation appears to be in the backyard. Investigators were seen taking shovels and rakes back there Tuesday morning. As investigators came and went through the gates, the ground near fence appeared partly dug up.
Southaven police said there would be no comment Tuesday about the investigation.
One neighbor said 3-4 days ago he got into a heated argument with a man in his 50s that lived at the home. The neighbor said that man made threats against him because his dog got into his yard just days before the investigators swarmed the home.
A mail carrier delivering to the home also said she has seen police there on multiple occasions.
Multiple vehicles from the utilities and code enforcement departments also responded to the home Tuesday morning.
