MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – I know we hear a lot about how fast Nashville is growing. Housing prices shooting skyward, no limit in sight.
So I was interested to see a new report out this week by SmartAsset, a New York-based financial technology firm. Its state-by-state ranking of best places to buy and sell a house in Tennessee found the top two spots go to Memphis suburbs, not Nashville.
The survey looked at things like how quickly people can sell a home and if they buy into an area, how stable will it be?
Germantown was tops in the state with a score of 88.6. The next healthiest housing market was Bartlett with a score of 87.4.
Then areas around Nashville, Smyrna (85.8), White House (85.3), and Goodlettsville (83.6) were three, four, and five. Six was Collierville with 80.9.
All the rest, but one, were outside Nashville as well. But when it comes to healthiest housing markets, Nashville didn’t get a gold, or even a silver, this time.
