Nashville music producer arrested again on assault, false imprisonment charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville music producer accused of kidnapping a woman in December and assaulting her repeatedly has been arrested again.

Baeho “Bobby” Shin was booked Monday morning into the Metro jail on charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

According to an arrest affidavit, Metro police were called to a home on Whites Creek Pike in Joelton after someone reported the victim had been “captured” by Shin and was being beaten.

Officers arrived at the home and said they observed Shin “attempting to force the victim inside a vehicle” in the garage.

When Shin saw the officers, he shut the garage door and took the victim back inside where the officers saw him pull her by her arms through the kitchen and up the stairs, the arrest affidavit stated.

Police could see broken glass on the kitchen floor and what appeared to be blood on the wall and air vent.

Officers knocked on the door multiple times but Shin did not answer, so they made entry through the back door of the home and located Shin in the living room with his hands up, investigators said.

He was taken into custody.

Police said they found the victim crying inside a bay window storage bench in the upstairs studio of the home.

She “had numerous bruises on her body and face, a knot on the back of her head and swelling around her right eye,” the police report stated.

The paperwork went on to say the victim told officers that Shin “had taken her head and put it in the toilet and tub with water in it multiple times causing the knot to the back of her head.”

An order of protection had already been issued by the victim against Shin, police revealed.

Bond for Shin was set at $175,000. He was expected in court Tuesday.

Shin was already accused of holding a woman hostage at his Joelton home on Whites Creek Pike for six days beginning on Christmas Eve 2018.

The victim told officers the abuse began when Shin got angry at her for smoking an e-cigarette.

She claimed Shin threw her to the ground, punched and kicked her several times, beat her with a vacuum and tried to strangle her with the cord.

Shin is also accused of splashing scalding hot water on the woman’s open cuts.

While the victim was held against her will, she said Shin forced her to perform tasks and would drag her around the home.

She told officers she escaped the home and called for help on December 30.

Shin was charged with kidnapping and sexual battery in that case which was bound over to a grand jury.
