Skull found in woods identified as missing Tennessee woman

GIBSON CO., Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A skull found by dog in a wooded area near the Gibson County and Carroll County line this weekend have been identified as the remains of 22-year-old Sarah Michelle Phillips.

Phillips had been missing since January 9.

According to Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas, the medical examiner’s office in Memphis identified the remains using partial dental records. 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation assisted the Milan Police Department with the case.
