Memphis history, culture and of course the famous ducks were celebrated Wednesday, as part of the Peabody Hotel’s 150th anniversary.
The historic hotel’s celebration this year took place in the Venetian Room.
“We’re going to be celebrating today with a big launch party,” said Kelly Earnest, the Peabody’s Director of Marketing. “We’re going to be celebrating the anniversary throughout the year with multiple events and special promotions.”
Earnest explains other events include a 1940s inspired rooftop party, the traditional anniversary party in September, and a Jack Daniels dinner.
“It was because of Tennessee whiskey and Jack Daniels that we have ducks in the fountain today,” explained Earnest.
