In a new study by Wallethub, Mississippi is the fattest state in the nation. Tennessee ranks 4th and Arkansas comes in 8th.
The study compared three key dimensions: obesity and overweight prevalence, health consequences, and food/fitness.
New research by the Physical Activity Council suggests a need for more aggressive efforts to combat obesity. According to the report, 82.1 million Americans age 6 and older were completely inactive in 2018.
The study also looked at the fattest cities in each state; Memphis ranked 3rd for fattest city in the nation.
