250 Mid-Southerners take part in special naturalization ceremonies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – The Independence Day holiday is a special one for hundreds of people living in the Mid-South, who can now celebrate the Fourth of July as an American citizen.

Two special naturalization ceremonies were held Wednesday at the Benjamin Hooks library as part of a national celebration for the birth of our country. 250 people from at least 50 countries became new citizens.

In total, the U.S. will welcome 7500 new citizens in more than 100 ceremonies through July 5th.
