MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Touch By An Angel Ministries presented its annual Mother’s Day Giveway Sunday.

For the past 10 years, Larry Hunter has been giving away a recliner to a deserving mother at area nursing homes.  This year he gave a recliner, roses and a plaque to 83-year-old Mary Ernestine Holloman.

Holloman is a 30-plus year educator who taught at Hamilton High School and retired from LeMoyne-Owen as a professor of education.  She was overwhelmed with joy.

“It is such a great honor and honor to always receive well and this one has no difference at all, I have a family full of beautiful children and grandchildren,” said recipient, Mary Ernestine Holloman.

“It makes me feel great, it makes me feel great just to make their day, let them know we haven’t forgotten about them,” said Larry Hunter with Touch by an Angel.

Holloman was not the only person who received gifts today.  Touch by an Angel also gave small gifts to all the ladies who work at the Whitehaven Community Living Center.
