A Mid-South OBGYN Is Indicted For Sexually Assaulting Patients

Local News

A Mid-South OBGYN has been indicted, accused of sexual assault against patients.

Dr. Gregory Norwood practiced out of Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto and other health facilities.

Investigations began in 2016 after patients claimed they were assaulted during routine exams..

Attorney Murray Wells tells Local 24 he represents 16 women who say they were sexually assaulted by Norwood.

Norwood surrendered his doctor’s license after the state suspended him last September.

Baptist Desoto Hospital issued a statement saying, “Dr. Norwood does not have privileges in any of our hospitals, and that has been the case for quite a while.”

Thursday night, Norwood bonded out of jail on twelve counts of sexual battery.
