In Dallas, an estimated 2,500 people rallied against white supremacy Saturday night.
Tensions grew towards the end of the rally as protesters who had gathered outside city hall tried to move towards the confederate war monument at pioneer park cemetery.
Mounted patrol officers lined up to protect the monument and had to push people away from the cemetery.
Police were also forced to separate protesters and counter-protesters.
