MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Local celebrities have signed on to judge the Memphis Youth Got Talent competition set for Saturday.
it allows area students to not only show off their skills, but win some cash. Among the judges announced Thursday are lead singer Larry Dodson of the legendary Bar-Kays, Kameron Whalum – who tours with Bruno Mars, and Ladia Yates – artist and former choreographer for singer Usher.
“It’s going to be a great platform for the youth all over the city. Memphis doesn’t have a lot of huge platforms for kids that have a lot of talent, so this is great that the city put this together,” says Yates.
“I hear it’s going to be a lot of great entertainment and Memphis is going to be really surprised,” says Dodson.
The talent show is Saturday at the Cannon Center. Third place wins $250, second place $500, and first place $1,000. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
