Bartlett teacher one of nine finalists for Tennessee teacher of the year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A Bartlett teacher has been nominated for Tennessee teacher of the year.

Amanda Tutor, an art teacher at Bartlett 9th Grade Academy in the Bartlett Municipal School District, is now one of nine finalists for the honor.

Tutor has taught in Bartlett for her entire career. She started at Appling Middle School in 2005, and also has worked at Ellendale, Oak, and Bartlett Elementary.

The Tennessee teacher of the year will be announced during a banuqet this fall. The winner will represent the Volunteer State in the national teacher of the year competition.

If selected, Tutor also will serve on the Commissioner’s Teacher Advisory Council.
