Billboard Controversy Over No Improvements In The Mid-South

Local News

50 years after Dr. King’s death, some Mid-Southerners feel like conditions have not improved.

The Coalition of Concerned Citizens put up a billboard at Walnut Grove near Tillman Street in Binghampton that reads “Remember The Past, Deal With The Present,” ending with #NoChange with a picture of the civil rights icon.

Al Lewis, a group founder says, they are concerned local leaders and businesses are hiding the crisis of poverty in the city and those who create it.

Lewis said the group is planning other actions through April 4, adding details will be revealed later.
