MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - A tree that's been a part of the Brookhaven Pub in east Memphis for decades has been taken down.
The original owner of the building decided to build the patio and awning around the tree. But Tuesday, the tree was removed as part of a major renovation to the restaurant.
The patio the interior and the kitchen are all getting a makeover.
No worries though, the tree isn't gone for good.
“It's sort of being kept secret right now, the tree will live on in a different form inside the restaurant,” says Jeff Savage, the general contractor/project manager. “We are going to get this tree reformatted into furniture and other specialty pieces for the restaurant."
The restaurant will stay open during the renovation.
