Cat Yoga And Art Exhibit At Crosstown Arts

Local News

Cat yoga! That’s right. Folks are combining yoga with cats! Crosstown Arts is partnering with Memphis Animal Services for an adoption event Saturday.

About a dozen cats, all looking for their “fur-ever” homes, will attend two yoga classes at Crosstown Arts.

They’ll be wandering around the room, meowing, and maybe doing a little yoga themselves.

“The idea is that the cats will hang out and run around our mats and do some yoga with us,” says Bianca Phillips, the Crosstown arts community coordinator.

“We absolutely encourage people to come for our visiting hours and the open gallery. There’s an art show going on. You can look at the art, visit with the cats, and hopefully take a cat home!” says Katie Pemberton with MAS.

The yoga classes have already filled up, but you can view the gallery’s current exhibit “We Need To Talk,” a collection of “break-up art” and artifacts, and visit with the adoptable kitties from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
