Celebrate Memphis: City breaks record for world’s longest picnic table

Local News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – It’s official! At the Celebrate Memphis festivities at Tom Lee Park, the city broke the world record for the longest picnic table.

The previous world record for longest picnic table was set in March in Paris, France.

The picnic table for the Memphis In May record had to run at least 1,334 feet in length in order to break the French group’s record. And more than 1,000 people had to take a seat at the same time.

Guinness World Records certified the record Saturday evening, and now Memphis holds the record for the world’s longest picnic table.
