Christmas Trees Given Away In Honor Of Family Killed In House Fire

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - 150 local families now have a Christmas tree thanks to one Mid-South organization.

Children of neighbors along Severson Street and families from Cummings Elementary were able to select a tree for their homes Friday.

The Fallen Heroes Foundation gave away these trees in honor of ten people killed in a house fire in south Memphis. That fire broke out on Severson in September of 2016.

The foundation started handing out the trees at Chandler Park beside Cummings School. That's the school the children killed in the fire attended.

Last year, the foundation gave away 80 trees.
