(ORIGINAL STORY - 12/14/2017)

Two students are talking with investigators after a 10th grade boy was physically assaulted at Collierville High School.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says it happened Tuesday afternoon in the school's parking lot. Detectives say the two students are accused of attacking the boy. The victim was expected to leave LeBonheur Thursday.

SCSO Chief Deputy Floyd Bonner told Local 24 that parents shouldn't worry about this happening more often.

"Collierville High School is a good school. We think that this is an isolated incident, but again, this is still under investigation. We're gonna get to the bottom of it,” says Chief Deputy Bonner.

SCSO is still investigating this assault.
