MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – One of Midtown’s most vibrant neighborhoods is hosting its annual festival of food, art, and music. Thursday was the kickoff party for the Cooper-Young Festival, and it was filled with music and food.
Tamara Cook, executive director of the Cooper-Young Business Association, said this weekend will have local artists and musicians and some from across the country. However, she said this weekend will be extra jam packed with the Southern Classic happening just a few blocks away.
“This is the best weekend in the world because you got the Cooper-Young Festival and you got the Southern Classic and it doesn’t get any better than that,” Cook said.
The Cooper-Young Festival is Saturday from 9am until 7pm and will feature numerous musical acts from bands and artists from across the country. Cook said even in its 32nd year, it grows with more and more people coming to see all that Cooper Young has to offer.
