Garden enthusiasts hit the great outdoors today for a one-of-a-kind garden walk.
It was the Cooper-Young Garden Walk featuring more than 130 gardens in the area. People also gazed at art installations, stopped by artist’s studios, and went to different farmer’s markets. They also got tips on how to make their gardens budget-friendly and learned about different designs.
Organizers say the event is all about showing off gardens with personality.
Kim Halyak, President of the Cooper-Young Garden Club, explained. “Because the money we raise is going to beautify Cooper-Young, we want to encourage young gardeners to get involved in gardening encourage anyone who’s afraid or doesn’t know what to do to come on out get some ideas, go home and be inspired.”
The Cooper-Young Garden Club was founded a little over two years ago.
