Students at Cordova Elementary celebrated Wednesday’s International Day of Peace in a fun way.
Kids in pre-k through 5th grade wore traditional clothes from other cultures and participated in a multi-cultural fair. Teachers say it’s important for students to be respectful of other cultures.
“It’s not too early for them to learn about peace and conflict resolution and to respect others,” says pre-k teacher Chandra Madden. “Even if we’re different, we’re a lot alike.”
The International Day of Peace is celebrated every year on September 21st.
