Dollar General Robbed In Helena-West Helna

Tuesday morning just befoe 8:10 am two black males entered the Dollar General Store on Sebastian in West Helena and held up the store employees. 

Virgil Green, Chief of Police with the Helena-West Helena Police Department stated in an agency press release two black males wearing all dark clothing with hoodies and bandanas walked into the store just minutes after the store open one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.  

Store surveillance shows two males wearing dark clothing wearing hoodies and bandanas, one of the suspects armed with a handgun went to the store clerk, while the second suspect locked the front door. 

Chief Green, stated there were customers inside shopping when the store was robbed. One of the robbers points a weapon at the store clerk and forces her to open the cash register. 

The clerk was forced to put the money in a Dollar General Store plastic bag. Green stated investigators were told by customers the second suspect went to the back of the store, the suspect with the gun ran to the back of the store, and both suspects fled out of a back door on foot with an undetermined amount of money.      

Detectives have obtained video surveillance of robbery and are interviewing store employees and customers. 

Chief Green, stated this was a very scary event for store employees and customers, where you had these guys pointing weapons at them, Some of the customers were visibly shaken up.
