It’s still months away, but Memphis-based FedEx is already in the Christmas spirit. The shipping giant is getting ready to send holiday cheer to our military heroes.
More than 300 FedEx volunteers spent Thursday filling 14,000 care packages. Volunteers say it’s important to make sure the holidays are special for those who serve our country.
“And you know our troops our making an awesome sacrifice and this is just a small thing that we can do to show we appreciate what they’re doing,” says Marvin Hill.
This is all part of the USO’s “Holiday for Heroes” program.
The care packages will be delivered to troops stationed overseas in southwest Asia, the Pacific, and Europe.
