Finding Help For Alzheimer’s & Dementia Patients In Memphis

It’s been more than 3 weeks since Pandora Duckett disappeared. The 87-year-old has Alzheimer’s disease, and wandered off from her home, in Raleigh. There are more than 30,000 diagnosed cases of Alzheimer’s right here in Shelby County. 

That doesn’t include the undiagnosed cases. Experts say by 2050, that number is expected to triple.

Alzheimer’s is the leading cause of Dementia. It causes memory loss and may interfere with other abilities that help you get through everyday life. 

Someone who has Alzheimer’s probably can’t tell you what they had for breakfast but can remember their favorite food growing up.

Recent studies show Alzheimer’s is more prevalent in African Americans and women. 

Actually, 2/3 of Alzheimer’s cases are women. 

If you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s experts say never leave them alone, and never lock them inside a home.
