Guard Released From Hospital After Being Injured During Riot In Mississippi Prison

A Mississippi prison guard has been released from the hospital after suffering a head injury during a prison riot.

According to Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson, an inmate hit the guard in the head with an object Wednesday night during a riot at the Marshall County Correctional Facility.

We are told inmates tried to set things on fire, and the Marshall County Sheriff Department and Holly Springs Police were called to help prison officers restore order.

The riot remains under investigation and the facility remains on lockdown.
