Local 24 is learning new information about a man arrested on human trafficking charges involving a Frayser teen.
Darnell Davis, 32, appeared in Desoto County court Wednesday. Davis has a rap sheet that is filled with numerous charges across state lines.
A judge set his bond at roughly 1 million dollars, and less than 45 minutes later he was turned over to state custody because of a parole violation. Hernando Mississippi Police says Davis violated his parole and has been returned to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He faced Cocaine Possession charges last year and was out on parole.
Davis now faces a human trafficking charge, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and other charges. Earlier this week, a 17-year-old girl was returned to her family after authorities say Davis took her against her will. The mother of the teen, Gena Hodges, says her daughter was drugged. She reported her daughter missing last Wednesday.
Memphis Police sent out a city watch for the teen, but it was her cousins who eventually found her and got Davis into police custody.
The Hernando Police Department is working with the FBI and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on this investigation.
