MEMPHIS, Tenn (localmemphis.com) - An iconic downtown Memphis restaurant will reopen after hundreds were evacuated Monday night when fire was seen coming from the roof.
The Memphis Fire Department was called to the Blues City Cafe just before 8:30. It only took firefighters a few minutes to bring the fire under control.
According to MFD, a vent-a-hood motor malfunctioned on the roof above the kitchen area.
There were no injuries.
Blues City Cafe posted on its Facebook page that it will open Tuesday at 5 p.m.
