BARTLETT, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Fourth of July celebrations are starting around the Mid-South Wednesday evening, bringing food and fun for families.
Bartlett’s firework show will take place at Highway 70 and Appling Road. Appling Road between Southern Way and Flaherty Place is closed for the event.
Veterans were honored during the opening ceremony early Wednesday evening. The big fireworks show is set for 9:10 p.m.
If you’re coming out to the festivities, vendors are classic carnival food like hot dogs and funnel cake. There are activities for all ages including a car show, and a live performance by the Bartlett Community Concert Band.
We spoke to one man about why he brings his family here every year.
“My grandkids will understand what the Fourth of July means and how it is to celebrate the birth of our nation. This is a big day for us,” said Frank Bilbro.
The first-ever Bartlett fireworks show was held in 1999.
