Wednesday in the oval office, President Trump met with more than 85 presidents of Historically Black Colleges.
That included the President of Lemoyne-Owen College Dr. Andrea Lewis Miller.
When asked if she thinks the President will prioritize the needs of HBCU’s, she says she is, “cautiously optimistic.”
“It’s not that you ever heard him talk about higher education and the plight of African-Americans in higher education and historically black colleges and universities. I don’t even remember hearing him ever speak about us collectively,” said Miller during a phone interview.
Miller says she also met with Education Secretary Betsy Devos and Vice-President Mike Pence.
