It’s a special day for people at the 115 stations that make up the Nexstar family.
Here at Nexstar Broadcasting, we are celebrating “Founder’s Day.”
20 years ago, on June 17, 1996, the Nexstar Broadcasting Group launched as a standalone station in Pennsylvania.
The company, under the leadership of Perry Sook – chairman, president, and CEO – has expanded to serve millions of people across the United States.
In Memphis, Local 24 is concentrating its efforts on Perea Preschool in north Memphis.
Perea Preschool is a private school and funded by the Church Health Center.
Employees from Local 24 and Nexstar are beautifying the campus. They are planting trees and shrubs outside as well as reading to the children and painting a mural.
The school has 160 three and four-year-olds and shares space with Klondike Elementary. The goal of this preschool is to serve the surrounding low income community by helping at risk kids.
