The Shelby County Board of Commissioners made a swift move this past week to propose a charter school that is about to open in Bartlett. It would return to its original plan to serve students in north and south Memphis.
I welcome Shelby County Commissioner David Reaves, who led the charge on this. He represents parts of Bartlett, Raleigh, and Lakeland.
Gateway university charter school says they couldn’t find a campus in Memphis, so they’re trying to set up shop in the Yoru district. The resolution passed in a 9-to-1 vote. We find the answer to the question of if it interrupts the opening and more.
