MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A local artist unveiled his latest work in Frayser Saturday. Jamond Bullock created a mural on the side of Superlo Foods, a grocery store he frequented while growing up.
He decided to theme the mural “stand up for our streets.” He says the mural is about the environment and cleaning up.
Frayser has become a dumping ground for trash, tires, couches, and so on.
Bullock says the mural also brings pride to the area.
“The community doesn’t want trash to be dumped here, and we’re also trying to boost the community pride through telling a story about, you know, knowledge, about environmental awareness,” said Bullock.
Bullock has created work in east, south, and downtown Memphis. He now lives in Binghampton, but says he still has a lot of pride in the community he grew up in.
