Local pups participate in Superpower Pup Pageant

Local News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Service dogs and the ones that warm our homes were celebrated at the Pink Palace museum on Sunday.

The Superpower Pup Pageant consisted of four categories for the dogs to enter including best costume and least identifiable breed.

The event celebrates the recent opening of the new Superpower Dogs 3D movie in the CTI theater.

The movie explains how man’s best friends are also real-life superheroes.

“They can do all kinds of things that we can’t and they really help make our lives a lot better,” said Luke Ramsey, manager of Public and Special Programs at the Pink Palace. “From anything from therapy to literally saving our lives.”

There were plenty of other events on the lawn. The TN Task Force One rescue dogs started by hosting a demonstration.

Memphis Police and fire canines came out to show their skills and activities were set up to find out what your animal’s superpower could be.
