Local 24 Generic - Classroom Desks School

A lockdown has been lifted at Lewisburg Primary School, Lewisburg Elementary School, Lewisburg Middle School, and Lewisburg High School after law enforcement in the area searched for a suspect.

Local 24 is told that the suspect took off from a car accident near the schools. The school leaders locked their doors as a precautionary measure, and classes continued for students.

We are told information was sent to parents by phone and email.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department cleared the schools to lift the lockdown about 11:45 a.m. They have not said if the suspect has been caught.
