Man Convicted For Role In Robbery Of Pizza Delivery Driver

A 23-year-old man has been convicted of aggravated robbery for his role in the holdup of a pizza delivery driver two years ago in the Oakhaven area, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Wednesday.

Defendant Dante Williams faces 8 to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 23 by Criminal Court Judge Glenn Wright.

The holdup occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2015, in the 3400 block of Dobbin Ferry Ave. where several men with guns robbed him of food and money when he arrived to deliver a pizza.

Two other defendants, Thomas Alford, 23, and Dartantion Young Jr., 20, have pled guilty and are serving 8-year sentences. Two other suspects were handled as juveniles.

The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Muriel Malone.
