A man and woman were indicted on first-degree murder charges Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a 29-year-old man during an attempted robbery in January, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Jamarcus Miller, 23, of Olive Branch, and Kaci Calderon, 20, of Memphis, also were indicted on one count of murder in the perpetration of an attempted robbery in the death of Nicholas Brunetti.
In addition, Miller was indicted on convicted felon in possession of a hand gun, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony.
Miller and Calderon are being held without bond. Both gave statements admitting their involvement.
The shooting occurred the evening of Jan. 6, 2018, in the parking lot of an apartment building in the 5000 block of Yale Road in Raleigh. Investigators said Miller shot Brunetti multiple times as he sat in a truck with Calderon who had set up the victim to be robbed.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Glen Baity.
