MBI Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting In Clarksdale

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate an officer-involved shooting that left one-person dead in Clarksdale.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, Clarksdale Police responded to a prowler call just after 9 p.m. in the 300 block of Clark Street Saturday. When officers arrived, they came into contact with 41-year-old Patrick Bryant of Clarksdale.

Bryant was fatally wounded in a nearby backyard.

Authorities have not shared details into what led to the shooting.

Investigators said a weapon was recovered on the scene but did not elaborate on what kind of weapon it was or who it belonged to.
