Hundreds of basketball fans are enjoying the first game of the Memphis Hustle season.
The Memphis Grizzlies G League team is getting a lot of support from Mid-South basketball fans.
The Memphis Hustle played Sioux Falls Saturday night. Fans say anytime they can watch a good game of basketball and support the home team it’s a good night.
The Memphis Grizz line band welcomed fans for the season opener of its G league team and the excitement was felt across the Landers Center.
“My sweet little niece right here gave us some tickets and i didn’t know where i was coming but i got here and the band started welcoming us and we started marching,” said Ruthie Reid of Memphis.
“I think is it’s going to be fun just to kind of watch these players grow up and it will help develop the fan base for the Memphis Grizzlies like you can actually see these kids, young people develop and actually be Grizzlies stars,” said Ann Barton of Southaven.
The game sure did not disappoint, it also inspired young basketball players.
“It makes me feel like I’m one of the players like I want to be an NBA player,” said Jacob Mcafee a Memphis Hustle fan.
Local 24’s Meteorologist Chelsea Chandler performed the national anthem. The atmosphere was family friendly of course and fans hope others will show their support for the home team this season.

Saturday night’s game brought out 3,452 people. The Memphis Hustle will play Salt Lake City Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
