Memphis in May unveiled its 2019 fine arts poster honoring the Bluff City done by a local artist.
First-generation immigrant Evelina Dillon created the oil painting on canvas.
Dillon was born and raised in Uzbekistan before moving to the U.S. in 1996.
The painting, called “This is Memphis, This is Us,” is filled with dozens of Memphis landmarks.
“When I lived outside Memphis, I know only about Elvis and a couple of other things. when I moved down here, I realized that Memphis is so, so much more, said Dillon.
This year’s selection was different than years past. Instead of a Memphis in May committee selecting artwork, the public voted on this year’s winner.
The artwork will be available for $35, with a limited edition signed and numbered collector’s poster for $65.
