Memphis Police Investigate Two Early Morning Shootings

Memphis police are searching for suspects in two separate early morning shootings.

The first happened about 12:45 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Woodward in South Memphis. Police say the victim was coming home, when three men in a Honda Civic approached.

He told officers one of the men said “Are you tweek?” then fired a shot. The victim ran inside and called police. The victim was taken to Regional One in non-critical. The suspects are still on the run.

Just before 4:00 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Winchester, near the airport. Police say the victim flagged them down, and told them he had parked his vehicle in his driveway.

When he was locking his door, he says a man in a mask approached from the direction of his backyard. The victim said the man started cursing at him and telling him to drop it off. The victim said he tried to run, and the suspect fired several shots.

The victim was taken to Regional One in non-critical condition. The gunman is on the run.
