Memphis Police urge gun owners to lock up firearms; free gun locks available at MPD precincts

Local News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Memphis Police are once again urging people to lock up weapons after a 4-year-old boy was shot and killed by his little brother Monday in Frayser.

“We could avoid a tragedy like yesterday. If we would just lock our guns up and be mindful of our weapons and the danger of them not being locked,” says MPD Lt. Col. Vincent Beasley.

MPD stresses, you can pick up a gun lock for free at any city precinct.
