MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A small group of pro-life advocates held banners over Interstate 40 Friday morning for National Pro-Life Bridges Day.
The small group held blue banners that read “Abortion takes a human life” over both sides of I-40 on the Whitten overpass. According to Kent Pruett, who organized the banner display, Memphis was one of 50 cities taking part in event.
The group stood on the bridge for two hours, making their message visible to thousands of drivers.
“I think a lot of Americans are kind of nervous about defending the rights of the unborn children just because abortion is such a hot topic, but we really believe this is a positive thing. We’re not against abortion. We’re for life,” Memphis Coalition for Life Executive Director Jessie Wade said.
This was the second year for National Pro-Life Bridges Day. The nationwide event is coordinated by the Pro-Life Action League.
