It was an early Christmas this weekend for several families in the Mid-South who are preparing to welcome little ones.
Saturday was the ‘Merry Christmas Community Baby Shower’ in Orange Mound. The event provides an opportunity for mothers and fathers to connect with resources in the area that can help provide support for their newborns.
Tennessee State Representative G.A. Hardaway (District 93) hosted the shower.
“You want to make sure the moms know the things you do to prepare your body before you get pregnant. We want to make sure that dads know their role as support system that they put in place at the house determines how your baby develops,” said Hardaway.
The event featured a mix of educational and motivational opportunities, as well as several giveaways, health screenings, and more.
Presenters and vendors included the Shelby County Health Department, Le Bonheur, and the Memphis chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
