MGLW Ask Customers To Cut Back On Water Use

MLGW is urging water, residential, commercial, and industrial customers to limit water consumption.
 
Crews are still working to repair the Davis water treatment plant.
 
The conservation area it covers the Medical District, Downtown Memphis, Midtown, South Memphis, and Whitehaven.
 
MLGW reports limited water consumption is needed to keep water system pressures stable during peak water usage times.
 
Here’s what it means for you in you live or work in those areas.
 
During the peak, water usage hours of  5 to 9 am and from 6 to 10 p-m.
 
Customers are asked not to water lawns, wash cars, or fill swimming pools.
 
People are also asked to  maximize dishwashers, laundry loads,
take short showers, and to turn the water off while brushing teeth.
 
MLGW hopes to have the repairs completed next week.
