Mid-Southerners Participate In Memphis Women’s March

Local News

Mid-Southerners gathered at Clayborn Temple to discuss continuing the positive momentum in local and statewide activism on Saturday.

The Memphis Women’s March discussed issues ranging from gun sense and women’s health to immigration.

Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen and other local lawmakers were also involved in the discussion of the progressive women’s agenda.

“Coming up in 2019, we have a lot of issues to work on as part of women’s agenda. And we have moments to bring everyone together and talk about all of our issues and get momentum,” said Tricia Dewey, a co-organizer of the Memphis Women’s March.

After listening to several speakers, people marched from Memphis City Hall to Judge D’Army Bailey’s courthouse for the second time in two weeks. The first march was last week to coincide with Women’s March events across the nation.
