Mississippi hotel owner charged with stealing luggage from Memphis airport

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- A Mississippi hotel owner is facing charges after he admitted to stealing luggage from Memphis International Airport.

Dinesh Chawla is charged with felony theft of property.

According to a police report, Chawla was seen taking a suitcase off the baggage claim belt last weekend.

Police say he put the bag in his car and then returned to the airport to catch a flight.

Police later towed the car and say they found several bags that had been stolen containing thousands of dollars worth of items.

Chawla was arrested when he returned to Memphis.
He is the CEO of Chawla Hotels.
