Mississippi Senate OKs Ban On Abortion After Fetal Heartbeat Is Detected

The bill banning abortions when a fetal heartbeat is detected now heads to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant’s desk.

When signed, the Magnolia State will have one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country.

It bans abortions at the first sign of a heartbeat, except in cases of medical emergencies.

Governor Bryant has said he will sign the bill into law.
