Nationwide Manhunt for Mississippi Murder Suspect

A nationwide search is underway for man, who authorities say is considered armed and extremely dangerous, wanted for murdering his girlfriend and shooting another victim in Mississippi.

 

The suspect, Alex Bridges Deaton, 28, is described as a white male, 5’9”, 170 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.

 

Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at approximately 5am on Friday, February 24, from a woman who was shot while jogging on Castlewood’s Boulevard in Rankin, Mississippi. The victim said that a white male with facial hair driving a small, white SUV shot her in the thigh from his driver’s window.

 

Later that day at about 4:20pm, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a request to do a welfare check on a resident at the Vineyards Apartment near the Castlewood subdivision. There, a deputy and a family member found a 30-year-old woman dead inside the apartment. The Rankin County Coroner’s office  identified her at Heather Robinson. Robinson was Deaton’s girlfriend.

Deaton is believed to be driving Robinson’s vehicle, a white 2012 GMC Arcadia SUV bearing Mississippi Nurses Foundation tag number F396 NF.

 

If you come in contact with Deaton, do NOT attempt to engage him, but contact authorities via 911, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department at (601) 825-1480 or Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-8477.

 

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Deaton.

 

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department in this investigation.
