New study suggests weight gain may be linked to sleeping with lights on in the room

Local News

CNN Newsource A small change in your sleeping habit may shut down weight loss, but it depends on how you interpret a new study.

The study– published Monday– suggests a link between weight gain in women and sleeping with lights on.

Researchers with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences looked at women who slept with a television on or a night-light in the room.

They found those women had a 17% change of gaining 11 pounds over a 5-year period.

The same women also supposedly had a 22% chance of becoming overweight and a 33% chance of becoming obese.

Scientists admit the study has its limits. They say more research is needed.
